The event, organized by the Tuscany Region, the Italian National Contact Point of the Interreg Euro-MED 21-27 Programme, focused on thematic projects partners, regional authorities and other relevant stakeholders involved in the Programme, to create the conditions for a long lasting exchange between the different actors at the national level, in order to build synergies for future cooperations.
In this context, CUEIM was represented by Gaetano Zarlenga, the Director, and Valentina Oliviero, the Project Manager, who had opportunity to connect with other thematic and Governance projects, as well as to interact with them during the co-working activities planned during the day to exchange good practices and experiences, as gained during the first period of the project implementation.
The event was an important occasion to connect with the main referents of the Tuscany Region, Interreg Euro-MED National Contact Point, the Department for Cohesion Policy and the South of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Interreg Euro-MED Joint Secretariat, as well as with the representatives of the Innovative and Sustainable Economy Mission Governance projects, Community4Innovation and Dialogue4Innovation.
- In the first part of the event, the GREENSMARTMED Italian referents had the opportunity to listen to interesting interventions, underlining the strategic role of that first Italian Forum for the cooperation between the Interreg Euro-MED Programme Italian project parners, as well as the importance of the tools and initiatives run by the ISE Mission for its Thematic projects, among which ISE Community of Practice and the recently launched ISEC Hub.
- In the second part, CUEIM referents participated in one of the four parallel Thematic Working Sessions organized to strengthen synergies between each Mission Thematic projects, facilitated by the representatives of Emilia-Romagna Region and University of Siena as Italian Partners of the ISE Mission. In this context, CUEIM had the opportunity to introduce the GREENSMARTMED project and to have an interesting exchange with the other participating projects referents, as well as with other stakeholders interested in the project activities, by sharing key elements of the project strategy and methodology.
The event as well as its co-working activities proved to be very useful to better localize the actions that have been undertaken by different Interreg Euro-MED Thematic projects at the Italian level, addressing different regions through different approaches, as well as to verify how the GREENSMARTMED project can create potential synergies with projects belonging to other focus areas (marine resources, agri-food systems and resource valorisation), by sharing common approaches to support the green and just transition in the Mediterranean, coherently with one of the Interreg Euro-MED main scope.
